Brighton’s Sealife Centre is a fascinating aquarium filled with various sorts of sea life and reptiles. Embark on a self-guided tour through the world’s oldest operating aquarium that introduces you to both big and small finned friends - seahorses, sharks, an octopus and more!
Joined along by Owen and Bissy, we started in Brighton’s once famous arcade, with the Victorian interior still intact. We came across various underwater species of life including a bright blue lobster (Only one in every 2 million!), a bubbly octopus and there was even an opportunity to touch a real starfish! We then passed through the aquarium’s ‘Rainforest Adventure’ filled with turtles, a friendly iguana, crawly ants and more!
Lastly, we were taken back to the underwater world and travelled through a tunnel that took us through a large aquarium tank filled with sharks, a large turtle and various different colours and species of fish. I noticed there was an option to upgrade your experience to include the VIP ‘Glass Bottom Boat’ Experience, where you can hop onto a boat passing over the tank with a glass floor, allowing you to see the animals directly in action. You will also be accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide.
At the end of the tour, we were greeted with a large gift shop filled with various souvenirs and toys that elevated our experience and we bought a plushie that left us with something to remember this unique, pleasurable trip.
