As your journey winds along the iconic Sir Lowry’s Pass, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of these dramatic peaks, their rugged slopes carving a path into the heart of the Overberg region. Upon arriving at Hermanus New Harbour, you will receive a 20-minute safety briefing, along with an overview of what to expect out at sea.
A marine biologist on board will offer fascinating insights into the whales—explaining why these gentle giants migrate to our shores during this time of the year. Our spacious vessel is licensed to carry up to 80 passengers, but we limit each trip to just 65 to ensure a more personal and enjoyable experience.
After the briefing, you'll set out into Walker Bay in search of the whales. Known for their inquisitive nature, they often approach the boats—giving you a rare, close-up encounter. Some of them can weigh as much as 50 tons which is equivalent to ten fully grown African elephants!

On the return journey to Cape Town along Route 44—also known as the Whale Coast Route—we’ll stop to visit a special wildlife highlight: the penguin colony at Betty’s Bay.
Stony Point is home to one of only two mainland African penguin colonies in South Africa, the other being the famous Boulders Beach near the Cape of Good Hope.
What makes Stony Point so unique is its tranquil setting. Tucked away from major towns and tourist crowds, it offers a quieter, more intimate experience with these endearing seabirds.
