Cape Town Shark Cage Diving Adventure

If you have chosen a one way transfer from Cape Town, your exact pick up time from your accommodation will be confirmed the afternoon before your trip.

Depart into False Bay.

Based on what the weather is doing, we will decide on the best spot to weigh anchor and begin attracting sharks to the vessel.
The cage is then deployed where it floats next to our vessel. Once a shark approaches our boat, bait is kept in the water to keep the shark around long enough for identification, viewing, and cage diving purposes. 
If the weather conditions are favorable, guests will be readied for cage diving. Safety precautions and operational procedures are then explained to any guest wishing to enter the cage. It is important to know that the sharks come very close to the boat so it is not necessary to dive in order to see them. Those not wishing to dive will have excellent views of the sharks regardless.

Trip duration is +- 3- 4 hours depending on the weather conditions and shark activity.

CHILDREN
* No children under 8 years of age. Children are prone to seasickness as are adults, however, the effect of seasickness on children is much more pronounced with dehydration being a factor. Children also have a lower threshold for pain and discomfort.
* Children 10 years old + will be allowed into the cage on the basis that parents vouch for their aquatic experience.

Please note: Sharks are completely wild animals and as such sightings and behavior cannot be guaranteed. We will use our best knowledge in order to give you the most realistic expectations before making a booking.

CREDIT CARD REQUIREMENTS - ONLINE BOOKINGS
A person must possess a credit card (Amex is not accepted). 
The credit card has to be fully authenticated (3D secure)
Enabled to make international payments (Please notify your bank)
Sufficient funds on the card
In the event of a payment failure, please contact your bank for authorization & Apex.

As the trip is weather permitting and meeting and pick up times are based on this, it is very important that you contact us the day before after 14h30 and before 16h00 with a final weather confirmation and meeting/pick up time. The onus is on you to contact us.
Note: Day before confirmation and shark species will depend on weather conditions. All trips are confirmed weather dependent and are not shark species dependent

PLANES & TRAINS DON’T WAIT ~ NOR DO BOATS!! ~ Any guests not on time will regrettably be left behind. NO REFUNDS UNFORTUNATELY WILL BE MADE FOR guests who are late.

SELF-DRIVE GUESTS

For the 1st trip, you will need to be at the Apex Shark Centre in Simon's Town anywhere from 06:45 am to 09:00 am for registration & tea/coffee. 
For the 2nd trip, you will need to be at the Apex Shark Centre in Simon’s Town anywhere from 10h45 am to 13:00 pm. 
The exact time will be confirmed with you the day before the trip. Please allow for flexibility in your itinerary to accommodate this.
As you are self-drive, please make sure you have adequate time and directions to get to our shop.

DIRECTIONS

Apex Shark Expeditions, Boardwalk Centre, St Georges Street, Simon's Town
Take the M3 Southbound highway towards Muizenberg. (It will be best to get directions from the hotel to the highway).
Once off the M3 follow the signs to Muizenberg.
From Muizenberg follow the signs to Fish Hoek and then Simon’s Town. This is all on one road with the sea on the left-hand side.
When in Simon’s Town you will pass the train station on the left side.
Approx. 1 kilometer from here turn left into Wharf Street.
This will take you into the large parking lot with the Simon’s Town Pier in front. This is PAID to park.
The Apex Shark Expeditions shop is in the shopping center on your right.

TRANSFER GUESTS

Guests will be collected from their hotel. The exact times will be confirmed with you the day before.
Please double-check that you have given us the correct hotel details. If you are booked under a different name from the name you have booked with us, please let us know.

WHAT TO BRING

Dress in layers, Warm weather jacket, closed shoes, beanie, scarf, hat/cap, polarized sunglasses, towel, bathing costume (under your clothes), sun block & camera. 
If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend Sturgeon or Dramamine tablets. Take one the night before your trip and another one and a half hour before we are scheduled to meet. 
For your own enjoyment of the trip, we recommend that you do not overindulge in alcohol the night before as this may result in you being very seasick the next day.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If the trip is canceled due to inclement weather there is NO charge. This decision is made by the skipper and is based on wind and swell conditions. We will try to reschedule you if we have availability. Should you agree to an alternative date, this constitutes a confirmed booking and the cancellation policy applies.

1-5 guests:
30 days or more before the time of start date: no cancellation fee
Less than 30 days before the start date: 50% of the fee
Less than 15 days before the start date: 100% of the fee
No show or late arrival: 100% of the fee

6+ guests & Exclusive Charters:
A non-refundable 50% deposit upon booking. Refunded only on bad weather cancellation
Full payment is due 60 days prior. Cancellation hereafter is 100% of the fee.

Payment options accepted
Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard for online bookings. Bank transfers or cash will only be accepted for direct bookings into the Apex Shark Expeditions bank account, the details of which will be provided upon request.

Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for Apex Shark Expeditions via PayGate (Pty) Ltd which is the approved payment gateway. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3), and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy. 

Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by Apex Shark Expeditions separately from card details which are entered by the guest on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. The transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR). 

Refunds
NOTE: All payment is taken in ZAR and all refunds are in ZAR. Apex Shark Expeditions has no control over the difference in the exchange rate.

All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.
