Table Mountain National Park

Table Mountain in Cape Town offers a variety of hiking options, catering to different experience levels:
Platteklip Gorge: This is the most direct route to the summit, featuring a steep, well-trodden path with stunning views. It's challenging but relatively straightforward.
Skeleton Gorge: Starting from the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, this trail is more varied, including a forest section and some scrambling. It’s scenic and somewhat longer than Platteklip.

India Venster: This route is for more experienced hikers, offering a combination of climbing and scrambling with spectacular views. It’s a bit more technical and adventurous.

Pipe Track: Ideal for a more relaxed hike, this trail runs along the contour of the mountain, providing beautiful views of the city and coastline without a strenuous ascent.

Devil's Peak: A more challenging option that offers panoramic views of Table Mountain, the city, and beyond. It’s a rugged hike with steep sections.

Lion's Head

Lion's Head in Cape Town offers a range of hiking experiences with its distinctive. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:
Summit Trail: This is the most popular route, starting from the base of Lion's Head. The trail is a loop that ascends through a series of switchbacks and rocky sections. It’s moderately challenging but well-marked, with chains and ladders in some areas to assist with the steeper sections. The summit offers panoramic 360-degree views of Cape Town, Table Mountain, and the surrounding coastline.

Sunset Hike: Many people choose to hike Lion's Head in the late afternoon to catch the sunset. The trail is the same as the Summit Trail, but timing it for sunset provides a spectacular view of the city and Atlantic Ocean bathed in golden light.

Full Moon Hike: For a unique experience, some hikers venture up Lion's Head during the full moon. The hike is done at night, using headlamps, and offers a different perspective of the city lights and the moonlit landscape.
