Join Our Signature Mandela Legacy Day Tour for a Comprehensive History of Nelson Mandela
Our tour offers insights into Nelson Mandela's impactful life and legacy. We will start at Liliesleaf Farm in Rivonia to learn about Mr. Mandela's underground activities during apartheid. Next, we will visit his home in Houghton to see where he lived with his family. There we can also view his private office, which he occupied until 2010. We will then proceed to Constitutional Hill to learn about Mr. Mandela's imprisonment there as we understand the struggles he endured. His law offices in downtown Johannesburg are another stop to realize how he practiced civil rights law during apartheid. We have also scheduled time to see his residence in Soweto where he lived prior to being incarcerated. Our tour concludes at the Apartheid Museum to experience exhibitions showcasing Mr. Mandela's life and accomplishments in advancing equality and democracy in South Africa.

1. We begin this Africa Moja Tours and Transfers Mandela Tour in the quaint little place known as the Liliesleaf Farm, which is located in northern Johannesburg South Africa, Rivonia. The Liliesfarm is most noted for its use as a safe house for African National Congress in the 1960s.This safe house in 1963, was raided by South African police where more than a dozen ANC leaders and activists were arrested, who were then tried and prosecuted during the Rivonia Trial. Since the end of apartheid, the area has been turned into a museum and heritage site.

Nelson Mandela Foundation

1.After our time at Lilieslief farm we travel to the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Houghton Johannesburg to the last offices which Mr. Nelson Mandela occupied before his passing.
2. Nelson Mandela was last at his Houghton offices on the 18thof November 2010.
3.The Nelson Mandela Foundation was established in 1999 when its Founder, Mr. Nelson Mandela, stepped down as the President of South Africa and needed an office to continue his charitable work.
4.The Foundation is a beacon created to establish the protection and preservation of the memory of Mr. Mandela and contains archives of his life and times , work and writing.
5. Here we will find original pieces of history pertaining to the President such as his brief case, noble price medal and Xhosa mountain attire. Accompanied by exhibitions this is sure to be a place of true learning and education.

Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct

1.Once we finish over at the Nelson Mandela Foundation we head out just nearby to the Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg near Braamfontein for a look at the site of incarceration in South Africa that imprisoned a number of renowned men and women within its wall of the Constitutional Hills Old Fort, Women's Jail and Number Four.
2.Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Ghandi, Winnie Madikizela, Joe Slovo and so many others were imprisoned in this jail and this place is now museum. This museum now tells the story of the state of the prison, the role it played in South African History and what it currently stands for now post apartheid
3.Nelson Mandela was held in this prison during the famous treason trial of 1956.
4.The Constitutional Hill is a very important historic place in the South Africa we see today, a place rooted in a rough past and new beginnings.

1.Here we will spend at least 15 minutes outside the Chancellor House in Johannesburg which was once home to Nelson Mandela & Oliver Tambo’s law firm, this building is a popular tour stop.
2.Here you will get to see the three-story building in the Ferreirasdorp area of Johannesburg. Chancellor House once contained the first black law firm in South Africa, opened by Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo at the height of apartheid.
3.Between 1952 and 1956, Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo were a thriving law practice, trying to help others who were accused of crimes against the state and disobeying the draconian laws of the time.
4. It was here that the two attorneys fought for those accused of crimes against the state—many of which they were also held accountable for later in life. This will be seen from the outside through images.

1.The Nelson Mandela House or Mandela House is the house located on Vilakazi Street Orlando West Soweto in South Africa and was the residential house where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 up until 1962 with his family
2. Located on 8115 at the corner of Vilakazi street and Ngakane street this house is not far from the Tutu house which was also the residential home of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
3. This is also the place which Nelson Mandela return to after being released from prison in 1990.
4. This house is a true depiction of Mandela and his life with his family. The home has since 1999 been declared a National Heritage Site as a monument into the long-fought struggle against the apartheid regime showcasing that even in the smallest and insignificant of places, light and courage can be found and this is your next stop after lunch.

Apartheid Museum

1. The Apartheid Museum is our last stop on this Mandela Legacy tour where we get a true and final depiction on the magnitude of the Apartheid regime and the role Nelson Mandela and his peers played in overcoming it.
2. The Apartheid Museum was opened in November 2001. It is part of the Gold Reef City complex. Apartheid Museum Tours illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid.
3. The Apartheid Museum Tour shows how South Africa were before apartheid ended in 1994. The Museum has about 22 exhibitions with each highlighting the various struggles during Apartheid era. The Exhibitions include the Nelson Mandela Release and the Mandela Presidency amongst the others.
4. Our guided tour ends here as we head back to your establishment.
