Index Cliff Camping Adventure Experience

We'll be the first to say this experience is NOT for everyone. If heights terrify you -- this might not be your best bet. But if you're willing to get out of your comfort zone, you'll be able to experience the world like the birds do. Humans spend a third of their life asleep -- but how often do you mix it up and make sleeping an adventure?
Jack, your guide for this expedition has over a decade of experience climbing thousands of routes all around the world and sleeping on some weird ledges in uncomfortable places. Luckily, all that experience means your night will be comfortable and exciting, with a fair bit of goofiness too.

We'll meet outside Index General Store. I drive a black Subaru Forester. You can't miss it!

What's included:

• Emergency Gear -- Satellite Communication, First Aid Kit, Etc
• All Climbing Gear -- Ropes, Harnesses, Helmets, Portaledge, etc.
• Professional Trained Mountain Guide
• Headlamps
• All Food (and the things to cook and eat it with) -- we can accommodate all dietary restrictions

Not included:

• Camping Gear -- 0 Degree or Warmer Sleeping Bag, Sleeping Pad (foam or blow-up), Camping Pillow (optional)
• Warm Layers -- layers for your lower and upper body. Rain Jacket (and pants if the weather looks bad), warm socks, etc.
• Beverages. We will supply water.
• Gratuity -- it is customary to tip as you would at a restaurant.

Ever wanted to camp on the side of a cliff with a 1000 ft of air beneath you and watch the stars and wake up to the sun rising over snowcapped peaks in an alpine river valley only to have breakfast and coffee in bed?
If you want to do things most people never ever do, and you're not afraid to get a little scared in a very safe way, come cliff camping with us. Reach out with questions :)

Itinerary:

We'll meet at 2 pm and have a thorough safety introduction before starting our 4 pitch world-class rock climb to the top of a 1000 ft granite cliff with views out over the Skykomish River. For non-climbers a walking approach is possible.

At the top we'll take photos, eat appetizers, and go over everything you need to know about cliff camping. From there, you'll be lowered onto the ledge and the guide will come down to help you get settled. We'll take a bunch of wild photos before having dinner on the ledge the way the climbers do it -- delicious backpacker meals and whatever beverages you chose to bring.

After a cozy, if unnerving, night in your sleeping bag you'll wake up whenever and have breakfast and coffee in bed before packing up and rappeling all the way to the ground.
