Setting out from Portland, your local tour guide will take you through some of the 85-mile long Columbia Gorge. Full of waterfalls, mountains, and vineyards, this scenic area has a unique character. You'll hear about the landscape from your expert guide who will also lead you on a series of hikes throughout the day (the difficulty level will depend on the group's fitness). Your guide is also an expert on wine and, as well as telling you about the winemaking history of the area, will take the group to between one and three wineries to sample some of the region's top vintages. There'll also be a lunch stop at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center.
Whether you're a local or a visitor, this is a fantastic way to learn more about this area and combine hiking with a well-deserved glass of vino.

The 85-mile (137-km) long Columbia Gorge NSA would be a national park if it weren't a critical transportation corridor. It features waterfalls, mountains, monoliths, terraces, resort towns, vineyards, orchards, and The River, harboring a plethora of fish and birds, and a community of plants and invertebrates that changes dramatically going from the west end to the east end. Overlapping this is the Columbia Gorge AVA, the lovechild of the Columbia Valley and Willamette Valley AVAs. You will get intimate with The Gorge through hiking, wine tasting, and a visit to the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum. Your expert guide, with formal background in ecology, natural resources, and wine, will teach you about the natural history, cultural history, and wine background of the area. The guide will feel out the group’s physical abilities and tastes in choosing 1 to 3 hikes and 1 to 3 wineries, with a lunch stop at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. We cover lunch, you cover tasting fees.
Lunch, Snacks and Bottled water will be provided on your tour.

- Wine Tasting is not covered in your ticket price. You will need to pay for this on the day of your tour
- Please be prepared for whatever the weather may be when your tour runs
(e.g. sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, extra layers, rain gear). - Wear shoes that are suitable for hiking.
