Intro To Wine Tasting Class In HoustonCourse Overview
This is the Wine 101 Wine Course that every beginner should take. It is fun, informative and only 2 hours. This is your opportunity to dip a toe into wine and discover the wide array that is available to you as a consumer. We will lead you gently through the basics of wine, looking at the different styles of wines, some of the classic grape varieties, tasting and learning at the same time. The class will also introduce you to proper serving and storage, as poorly stored or served wine can spoil the wine or the evening, as well as some basic wine and food pairing principles.

No. Even in food or cheese pairing classes, the portions are meant for tasting only. We recommend that students plan to eat dinner before they arrive.

Reservation Changes, Cancellations & Refunds
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 3 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.
All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.

2015 – Introduced two great Certification Programs, the Italian Wine Professional and the California Wine Appellation Specialist.
The school now offers the generalist WSET Level 1-3, CSW, CSS and the regional style certifications of FWS, IWP and CWAS.
The addition of more instructors along with more certification courses is a dual win for the school as are quality of teaching improves and so is the range of course offered.
2014 – The school is offering more and more consumer classes with, up to, 8 consumer classes a week
Fall 2013 – Moved into new, bigger location with two classrooms and triple the size, 2437 Bartlett Street, Houston, 77098
2013 – The Texas Wine School is taking leaps and bounds with the introduction of the Society of Wine Educator Certifications (SWE).
The SWE Certifications, CSW & CSS, is a great addition and privilege as we are only one of three “private schools” sanctioned to teach these, usually self-study, certifications.
The school has been expanding with classes for all levels & subjects. The result has been an increase in students and an ever widening recognition in the market.
2011 – Offered all the Certification Courses, WSET Levels 1,2 & 3 & FWS. Very pleasing response considering it is the first time they have been offered. The consumer classes are also a success with Wines of France, Italy & California being the standouts.
2010 – Started the Texas Wine School in the Fall.
