Greenwich Village Ghost Tour

When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls.

Whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still — that is the time when ghosts are present, practising their terror with ghoulish delight! Explore the morose, creepy and foreboding side of Greenwich Village. Hear the stories that will make you shriek and shiver with fright. Beware foolish mortals!

Highlights

Anne Charlotte Lynch House: Called the “Poe House” by many, Edgar Allen Poe debuted some of his most famous works here.

The Hanging Tree: Hangman's Elm, believed to be the oldest tree in the city, it has a macabre history.

Washington Square Park: One of the most famous parks in the city, it has become a meeting place and center for cultural activity and protest as well as the home of several recognizable ghosts.

Washington Arch: Originally built to celebrate the birthday of Washington’s inauguration, it has become one the most recognizable structures in the city.

The Brown Building: The site of the worst industrial accident in American history.

The Murder House: The most haunted house in New York.

Jefferson Market Library: Once a courthouse, one of the most infamous trials of the early 20th Century took place here.

Activity FAQs

Can i drop off my kids?

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21. 

Can i take a tour alone?

Each tour requires a 2 person minimum to operate. We accept single travelers on tours, but only after the 2 person minimum has been met. 

Who is my guide? how will i recognize them?

You will not know who your guide is until the tour begins, and we do not give out that information as the guide might change last minute. Your guide will be holding a white flag with blue checks and our logo on it.

Running late?

Tours begin promptly at the start time listed. If you are running late, please call our office as soon as possible. Although we cannot guarantee we can catch you up with the group, we will do our best.

Will you pick me up?

We do not provide pick up on our group tours. 

Do you offer transportation?

All of our tours are walking tours and we do not use vehicles of any kind. O

Is there crown access to the statue of liberty?

No tour company is able to procure Crown Access to the Statue of Liberty. 

Alcohol & weapons

Weapons of any kind are prohibited on our tours. Alcohol is also prohibited. Guest who bring alcohol or show up intoxicated with be asked to leave and will not receive a refund.

Should i tip my tour guide?

Gratuities are not included in the price of your tour. Gratuities are never expected but are a great way to say thank you to your guide.

Do i have to pay entrance fees?

Entrance fees are included in some of our tours. Please check your confirmation to see if entrance fees are included. If the tour does not specifically say a fee is included, then it is not.

What happens if i miss the tour?

If you miss your tour will have to completely rebook. We do not provide refunds for guests who miss their tour.

Will i have access to a restroom?

We cannot guarantee restroom access on our tours. We suggest visiting a restroom before a tour begins.

What should i bring with me?

We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and dressing according the the season. During the summer we suggest bringing water.

Additional Experience Details & Important Information

Restroom availability or handicap accessibility during the tour are not guaranteed. The walking trips take one hour and 45 minutes with minimal breaks, so please wear appropriate footwear. As the tour is at night, we recommend bringing outwear during colder weather. We operate in rain, shine, or snow, please dress accordingly. Tours may be cancelled or rescheduled in the event of extreme weather for safety reasons. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule tours at any time.

The guide reserves the right to deviate from the route of the tour in the event of marches, parades, and circumstances beyond their control.

There will be an opportunity to purchase snacks and drinks while on the tour, we recommend that you bring at least $20.00 in cash (not all vendors accept credit cards) if you would like to participate in having an optional treat.
 

Food tastings are optional and not included in the ticket price.

Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over 21.

Parties of 8 or more are subject to a standard 15% percent gratuity based on booking total.

Cancellations & Refunds

Reservation Changes, Cancellations & Refunds

Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 3 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.

All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.
