About Harlem One Stop

Harlem One Stop is a cultural tourism initiative of the Hamilton Heights West Harlem Community Preservation Organization (CPO) which seeks to establish a one stop network for Upper Manhattan-Harlem-based tourism through alliances and strategic partnerships. The CPO partners with various arts and cultural organizations, retailers and restaurants to create a series of Harlem is Home tour packages. The CPO is a non-profit volunteer, community organization, active in the preservation of Harlem's architectural and cultural treasures. Through the promotion and sharing of local experience and knowledge, all partners seek to positively impact the delivery of services and neighborhood/business development in our respective districts and, throughout Harlem, in general.

Harlem One Stop also partners with local arts and cultural groups, businesses and civic organizations to bring to residents and visitors a variety of events and tour packages that not only promote the more well-known venues in Harlem, but also the smaller, lesser known events, such as the annual Hamilton Heights and Mount Morris Park house tours, and Swing Dance classes and entertainment reminiscent of the Cotton Club and the Savoy in the 20s and 30s.

Harlem One Stop is funded by a cultural tourism grant from the Arts & Business Council/NYSCA and is designed to boost tourism, strengthen Harlem/New York's ability to draw diverse visitors, give tourists a greater choice of authentic experiences and foster exciting collaborative opportunities to market ethnic and artistic traditions. "Traces, Faces, Places" represents the theme of Harlem One Stop tour packages. We invite you to participate in any one of our several exciting tours that draw on area history and take visitors behind the scenes to personally engage in the energy and excitement of the area's contemporary life.
