Experience Brooklyn!
You’ll travel through several different neighborhoods each with their own unique character, including Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint.
And, of course, you’ll have opportunities to sample some of the great food and drink of Brooklyn along the way. This tour is mostly walking, but at a reasonable pace. We take a subway ride from Barclay’s Center to Brooklyn Heights, and a ferry ride to Williamsburg.
You’ll learn how the subway was laid out, how it was built, and how locals navigate this sprawling system that is the largest in the world. Our ferry ride will give you unique and varied views of both the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines, and our beautiful East River bridges, perfect for amateur (or professional) photographers.
Fitness requirements: This tour covers about 4 miles total on foot. Not extremely strenuous, but some mild hills in Brooklyn. There will be some breaks for drinks and food, but mostly continuous activity for the full 5 hours.
What’s included: Local guide, bottled water, lunch.
What to know: 2 or 3 (Red) trains to Grand Army Plaza / Q (Yellow) train or B (Orange) train to 7th Avenue
What to bring: Wear comfortable shoes (sneakers, hiking shoes, and waterproof boots on rainy days.)
Bring umbrella or jacket in case of rain. Tour goes out, rain or shine.
Make sure to dress appropriately and bring anything you will need, such as gloves in the winter and sunscreen in the summer.
