Manhattan Creative Fiber Arts Field Trip

Field trips aren’t just for kids! BonnaH Co Fiber Arts invites you to rediscover the joy of a grown-up field trip in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. We’ve designed a one-of-a-kind experience that blends creativity, culture, and connection.
You’ll explore inspiring landmarks like the Fashion Institute of Technology and the iconic NY Public Library, soak in Midtown’s vibrant energy, and then slow down together for a hands-on embroidery project in Bryant Park (or a cozy indoor space if the weather turns). We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Los Tacos No. 1, one of NYC’s most beloved eateries. Along the way, expect a few fun surprises to keep the adventure lively.

This adults-only outing is thoughtfully paced at around 12–14k steps with plenty of breaks, so you can enjoy the city without rushing. All embroidery supplies and instruction are provided—just show up ready to explore, stitch, and make new memories. It’s creativity, discovery, and connection all wrapped into one unforgettable day.

At 9:45am, we will all gather at the Tiffany Clock in the middle of the historic Main Concourse of Grand Central Terminal. This is a convenient location both for those joining us from outside of and within the city. We will get to know each other over a cup of coffee or tea and a light snack. We'll check out some of the beautiful architecture at the station and then head via subway to our first stop.

The Museum at FIT

Depending on the current exhibits, we will visit either the Fashion Institute of Technology's museum and lobby exhibits or we will head to the Museum of Modern Art. Please reach out to us if you'd like to know which museum we are visiting on the date of the visit.

St. John the Baptist Church

We will stop for a delicious and famous taco lunch at Los Tacos No. 1. Eating outside in the bustling Pearson Park or inside Los Tacos if it's cold out, we'll enjoy lunch together. Lunch includes sides and a drink.

Needle Threading a Button

On our walk up to the NY Public Library and Bryant Park, we will stop for pictures at two statues honoring the Garment District. Needle Threading a Button and The Garment Worker provide great photo opportunities!

Kinokuniya is a fun Japanese book and stationery store adjacent to Bryant Park. We will stop by for a visit and you're welcome to shop if you'd like (spending money not included in trip fee).

New York Public Library is a beautiful and inspiring place to visit. We will explore the Treasures museum section of the library and find inspiration in the exhibits, many of which include fiber arts pieces. We will also stop here for a bathroom break and a chance to rest our feet.

Bryant Park

Bryant Park is a vibrant city park with lots of seating areas for us to take over for the embroidery portion of our field trip! Our sunset skyline embroidery project is perfect for all ability levels. We provide all materials, supplies, and instruction. We'll enjoy each other's company while stitching in the middle of one of NYC's most beautiful and welcoming parks.
