Cambridge Lgbtq+ History Walking TourJoin us on our Cambridge LGBTQ+ Visionaries Walking Tour! On this tour around Cambridge, we will learn about the many ‘firsts’ in LGBTQ+ organizing and the LGBTQ+ rights movement by visiting historic sites and exploring the stories of activists that paved the way before us.
Along this tour, you’ll see where the first same-sex marriages in the country took place, learn about a Black feminist organizing collective, visit the location where the earliest women and queer studies courses occurred, and hear about advocacy for LGBTQ+ students in public schools. Sites include Cambridge City Hall, the Cambridge Public Library, Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, Harvard Square, and more.
