Experience Overview:

Mt. Vernon Guided Food Tour In Baltimore

Mt. Vernon is home to some of the most impressive architecture and rich history in Baltimore!

Originally acquired by Revolutionary war hero John Eager Howard, Mt. Vernon was developed in the early 19th century; the iconic Washington Monument was designed soon after in 1815. Considered an arts district in Baltimore, Mt. Vernon has a multitude of museums and galleries. It is also known for its well-rounded food scene offering local eateries, upscale fare in elegant converted homes, top notch regional cuisine, and even a local brewery.

After taking this tour, you will be able to truly appreciate the heritage, history, and food scene in Mt. Vernon.

Your culinary adventure may include the following specialties:

  • Italian specialties
  • Regional seafood delicacies
  • Upscale New American cuisine
  • Handcrafted beverages
  • An unforgettable dessert

All dishes served are included in the tour. Enough food is served that, for most participants, a meal afterward will not be needed. Seating and special service is provided at all restaurants throughout the tour.

FAQ

Activity FAQs

What types of foods are served on the tour?

We will typically stop at 3-5 sit down restaurants during each food tour. Food ranges from local specialties to ethnic dishes directly reflecting the area's history and population.

What if i have dietary restrictions?

Please let us know if anyone in your group has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know well enough in advance, we can often accommodate your needs. If we do not find out about the special needs until the day of the tour, it is usually not possible for us to appropriately adjust the food on the tour.

Are there any beverages served on the tour?

Each restaurant will serve water and may serve other beverages with each meal depending on the tour.

If i am bringing an infant/very young child, do i need to purchase a ticket for them?

If you are bringing children below the age of 7 and they will not be eating the dishes, you do not need to purchase tickets for them. However, please do let us know if you will be attending with an infant or young child when you purchase tickets.

Do we just walk around and sample food?

Aside from sampling delicious food and great drink, you will also experience life as we traverse the streets of our favorite Baltimore neighborhoods. The tour is fully narrated by your guide, who will discuss the history, culture, architecture and entertainment that each Baltimore area neighborhood has to offer.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at each establishment.

How much walking is involved? is it a fast-paced tour?

We are on our feet for approximately half of the tour. We cover a good deal of information yet walk at a comfortable pace. We sit at most restaurants for 15-20 minutes each. Remember to wear comfortable shoes.

Are tours offered only in english?

Yes, we only offer public tours in English at this time.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

Yes, they are always appreciated!

What happens if it rains or snows?

Does this tour have anything to offer baltimore residents?

Absolutely! Many of our attendees live in the Baltimore area.

Can i shop on the tour?
