It also includes the Big House, gardens and original 1840s slave cabins, inhabited by descendants of enslaved West-Africans until 1977. Behind the scenes curated group visits of the new exhibit From the Big House to the Quarters: Slavery on Laura Plantation delve into the subjects of slavery research and women in Créole Louisiana.
