Eye-level whale watching onboard our low-to-water small group adventure vessels. Native Hawaiian owned and voted TripAdvisors Traveler's Choice, Hawaii Ocean Rafting has been Maui’s original ocean rafting experience for more than 30 years. Our small group tours make for a fun, family style experience. Although whales are protected in Hawaii and we do not approach them closer than federal regulations, they often approach our small boats for closer and eye level whale encounters.

We are just a short drive from Kaanapali, Kahana, Napili, Kapalua and other West Maui accommodations. And a fun destination for visitors staying in Kihei or Wailea.

CHECK IN 30 minutes prior to tour at Dive Maui Shop at 1223 Front Street, Lahaina. Park near Lahaina Cannery Mall and walk toward the ocean to Front Street, go south and over the bridge, dive shop is on the right before the blue building. Some roads are closed in the area, give yourself extra time.

What's included:

• Plan to get wet! This is a low to water boat- ocean spray and light rain can occur during tour.
• Hydrophone to listen to whale songs
• Life jackets are provided for emergencies but are not required to be worn during the tour. 
• Marine Naturalist Narration

Same great eye-level whale watching onboard a low-to-water small group adventure raft or monohull boat. Hawaiian owned and voted TripAdvisors Traveler's Choice, we've been Maui’s original ocean rafting experience for more than 30 years. Our small group tours of 20 guests or less make for a fun, family style experience. Although whales are protected in Hawaii and we do not approach them closer than regulations, they sometimes approach our small boats for those eye level whale encounters. Tour includes searching for active whales and stopping to watch them, a full narration of whale and Maui facts by our marine naturalist, listening to whale songs on a hydrophone and lots of photo ops! Whale encounters and closeness of whales vary based on the wild animal's chosen behavior. Time of day does not affect whale activity.
