Experience Overview:

Beginner's Scuba Diving Experience In Honolulu

Our 2-tank boat dives take beginners and certified divers to two natural coral reefs abundant with the most captivating marine life.

What to expect:

You’ll likely spot friendly sea turtles, schools of rare Hawaiian fish, and plenty of octopus on your own. And don’t worry, our crew members will make sure you don’t miss anything. They have the uncanny ability to spot sea creatures from afar.

All divers meet at our dive shop on 424 Nahua Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815. We are the only dive shop conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, walking distance from most of the hotels.

Tours depart from Kewalo Basin Harbor or Maunalua Bay, depending on your tour. We provide transportation to and from the harbor.
Here are just a few of the reef dive sites we choose from:
• Angler Reef: We lovingly call this place “octopus heaven” because the place is teeming with fascinating varieties of octopus. This reef also attracts spotted eagle rays and frogfish.
• Nautilus Reef: This is a prime location for octopuses and large eels.
• Kewalo Pipe/Horseshoe Reef: Beware of the large schools of barracuda and the largest morays around the island. They call this place home.

FAQ

Activity FAQs

Will I get motion sickness on the boat?

Seasickness affects everyone differently. If you've never been on the ocean, it's probably a good idea to take some form of motion sickness remedy such as Dramamine or Bonine before your dive trip.

What's the rules for flying on a commercial airline and scuba diving?

You cannot not fly for at least 12 hours after your last dive. But you can dive right after a flight.

How far in advance should I make reservation?

Ideally, dive reservations should be made at least 3 days in advance. However, we take reservations as short as 12 hours in advance.

How many divers are on the dive boat?

Our custom 25' Force dive boat "Submariner" is Coast Guard Certified to safely transport 12 divers per trip. Our custom 39' Force the "Snoopy V" is Coast Guard Certified for up to 28 people, however we take no more than 16 divers on board. We limit our dive groups to 6 divers per instructor and specialize in small groups and personal attention. It would be nice for us if they were full each day, however our morning charters are typically 6 or less divers and our afternoon charters average around 6-8 divers.

Do I have to be certified to scuba?

THERE IS NO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED!! The beginner dive tour is perfect for someone who wants to try scuba diving without a license. The only requirements are that you pass a medical questionnaire and are comfortable in water.

How old do you have to be in order to dive?

You have to be at least 12 years old to dive and be able to carry 30 pounds on your back.
