Lear/Rocheblave House
214 Zaragoza St, Pensacola, FL 32502, USA
In Historic Pensacola Village, the home stands as a striking example of Victorian architecture with a haunted past. Guests will hear stories of the Rocheblave family, and uncover chilling tales of a locked room and ghostly activity.
Ghost History:
From 1897 to 1910, the home belonged to Benito Rocheblave, a tugboat captain, his wife, and their five daughters. Legend tells of a ghostly girl who dances in a locked upstairs bedroom, believed to be one of the daughters. During renovations, a painter saw her through a window. She vanished, but the room was filled with the scent of sweet, old-fashioned perfume.
Another strange event involved skeletal remains from Old Christ Church, stored temporarily in the house. Though it was locked overnight, the bones were found rearranged by morning.
Her identity remains a mystery, but her presence is often felt. Cold spots, phantom footsteps, and perfume suggest the home still holds on to its spirits.
