Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

The construction of Dorothy Chandler Pavilion began in 1962 and terminated in two years. The hall can hold 3,197 spectators on four levels. It has a unique and nontrivial shape, resembling a glass construction with its high windows. The pavilion was named after Dorothy Chandler, a woman who donated $19 mln for the building to be opened. The first concert took place on December 6, 1964, with a Philharmonic Orchestra performance.
