Experience Overview:
3 Hour Private Tour With A Local Native ( Price Up To 5)Tour with a born and raised local Alaskan Native. Learn about my culture and some history of Ketchikan. Hear about our medicinal and edible plants, how we gather and process the plants. I come from a family background of artists; my grandfather James Edenshaw helped carve Totem Bight, my brother James Edenshaw is a Tlingit Master Carver, my Uncle George Lewis Jr. was a Tlingit Code talker, and my mother did bead work. If you're interested in my culture, I bring customers to one of four locations to see Totem Poles. These beautiful monumental carvings may symbolize or commemorate ancestors, cultural beliefs, clan lineage or events. Wildlife plays a role in many Alaskan stories. Ketchikan is home to a variety of animals, including bears, eagles, deer, wolves and mountian goats. Salmon is a huge part of our economy, with five species making Ketchikan the Salmon Capital of the world. Ketchikan is the first city on the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska.
