Shortly after leaving Bath you cross over the Severn Bridge into the Principality of Wales. Your first stop is at impressive Chepstow Castle, perched along a limestone cliff above the River Wye. This stronghold was home to some of the wealthiest and most powerful men of the mediaeval and Tudor ages.

Caerleon Amphitheatre

This is where blood-soaked Roman entertainment meets Arthurian legend. Stand in the centre of this colosseum and imagine as thousands of spectators gathered to watch gladiatorial combat. Centuries after the Romans departed, this arena became interwoven with myths surrounding King Arthur.
