Pollok Country Park

Pollok Country Park has a heard of about
50 Hightland Coos .
The park is the largest park in Glasgow at 361 acres with more than 6 miles (11 km) of woodland trails. The park was formerly part of the Old Pollok Estate and it contains Pollok House, which was built in 1752 and was the ancestral home of the Maxwell family. However, the Maxwell family’s roots in Pollok Country Park go back even farther, to the 13th century.

You will be dropped off at the entrance of Inveraray Castle, where you can embark on a self-guided tour of the castle and its gardens. You can immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of both Scottish and British history. Advanced booking is not required, however to enter the castle there is a charge per person.
Open Thursday to Monday (closed Tuesday & Wednesday) from 7th April to 28th October.

Castle Stalker

Castle Stalker – in the Gaelic, Stalcaire, meaning Hunter or Falconer – is believed originally to have been the site of a Fortalice (a small fortified building) belonging to the MacDougalls when they were Lords of Lorn, and built around 1320. The MacDougalls lost their title after their defeat by King Bruce at Brander Pass in 1308 but regained it for a period after 1328. In about 1388 the Lordship of Lorn passed to the Stewarts, the lands including Castle Stalker.
