Experience Overview:
Leith The Jewel In Edinburgh's CrownA light hearted tour, looking at the rich and varied history of Leith, famous for the movie Trainspotting. Is Leith suffering from gentrification? The new tramline has recently opened, will this encourage tourists to leave behind the crowded streets of the city centre and start coming in droves down to the Port of Leith? As a local tour guide, I certainly hope so! From Trainspotting to Tramspotting! I look at the real history of Leith, as I grew up In Leith in the 1980's when Leith was decimated by Margaret Thatcher, it is now done a full circle and is home to 3 Michelin Star Restaurants, Seafood Restaurants, Bistros, Gastro Pubs and much more besides. Come and find out what Leith is like and discover a new part of Edinburgh.
