Edinburgh Wine and Food Pairing Tour

Scottish food is incredible! On this tour you'll taste a selection of amazing Scottish dishes each paired with a beautiful European wine. You'll discover there is more to Scottish cuisine than haggis (which is delicious and you must try it if you're visiting!)
I'm passionate about Scotland: it's food, produce, whisky and people. I'll share that passion with you and introduce you to new foods and flavours. You'll experience the sensory treats Scotland has waiting to be explored!

I'm an experienced tour guide and Sommelier and will take you to 3 of my favourite Edinburgh restaurants, all a short, easy walk away from one another. You'll taste 5 beautiful wines, each one paired with a delicious food.

The tour is perfect for visitors to Edinburgh. The small group experience is a lovely way to meet other travellers. The start and end locations are next to Waverley Train Station. The tour takes approximately 3 hours with a maximum of 10 guests.

Please arrive in the foyer of The Edinburgh Grand, 42 St Andrews Square at 1:45pm. The experience starts at 2pm in our first restaurant with a glass of fizz. If you are late, please contact Joanne who will direct you to our table.

What to expect:

Cheval The Edinburgh Grand

Your guide will meet you at the agreed starting point and take you to the first of 3 venues.
Pairing 1: sparkling wine, paired with a savoury dish
Pairing 2: A sample of white wine, paired with a savoury treat.
Duration: 1 hour.

Location 2: The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant, The Mound, Edinburgh
A short walk through Princes Street Gardens, we arrive at The Scottish Cafe and restaurant. Here we will sample 2 more wines paired with artisan local foods.
Pairing 3: Pinot Grigio Rosado paired with a seasonal savoury dish for example, Scottish Salmon or Sea Trout.
Pairing 4: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Italian red wine paired with a seasonal savoury dish, for example, Haggis (alternatives available).

Duration: 1 hour

Destination 3: Twenty Princes Street, Edinburgh
Our third stop is a beautiful location with views looking out to Edinburgh's Old Town and Castle. Here we have a Scottish dessert paired with Prosecco Rose.

Excellent quality, delicious food. Here we might try haggis bon bons with pickled turnip and homemade orange marmalade.

DESSERT
Dessert and Prosecco Rose
A traditional Scottish dessert served with a contemporary twist! For example, Cranachan or ginger pudding.
