Small group Whisky Tasting that focuses on 1 to 6 people maximum. Instead of a large and noisy event, I opt for a more personal and intimate tasting, alllowing me time to answer any and all questions and to encourage active dialouge with my guests.
Higher end whisky options than many tourist-trap Whisky Tastings, choosing quality and knowledge, above profit and large scale. A genuine and authentic experience presented by an individual with over 25 years of whisky knowledge, bar management, and whisky retail experiences.

Access to private website and online resources for all guests to help you learn and expand your understanding even after the tasting has finished.

The Abbotsford Bar is located 3-5 Rose Street, at the East-end of Princes Street. Jenners department store is on the corner of Princes Street & St David Street, opposite the Scott Monument. Heading up St David Street 100m leads to Rose Street on your left. Head upstairs to once in the Abbotsford.

Scotch Whisky Tasting in a Traditional Scottish bar/restaurant
We will sample 4 different Scottish Whiskies, as I talk you through the tastes, and styles of Scotch over a 90 minute tasting. Designed for beginners, but open to all levels of knowledge. Relax for an evening and let me entertain you with 25 years of experience.
We will examine each style to help you better understand your own preferrences and give you confidence to order your own whisky in bar, or how to buy a bottle for yourself or as a gift.
Feel free to ask me anything as the tasting progresses, I'll happily expand on history, culture, or the science behind each whisky. I'm happy to advise of good local whisky bars and restaurants in the city, which shops are trustworthy, and generally willing to talk about all things whisky along the way. Each tasting is unscripted so I'll tailor it to suit your particualr needs as we go.
Why not stay for a few drinks, or even a meal after your tasting? Check out the venue and I'll be happy to arrange an extended table for after the tasting is finished, or you can move downstairs to the iconic bar and mingle with the locals for a drink.
