Belfast Hydrobiking Adventure on River Lagan

Take cycling of road an onto the River Lagan and explore Belfast's historic River Lagan onboard our Hydrobikes. This is the only experience on the River Lagan.
This is a unique way for visitors to see Belfast and the its historic Waterfront, Harland and Wolf cranes, Obel Tower, historic bridges, canal structure and much more. Hydrobiking is a fun safe activity which allows visitors to explore the River Lagan without getting wet. So you are free to head out into Belfast or other attractions after.

Hydrobikes provide a gentle, low-impact aerobic total body workout; but it all depends on how fast you pedal. Take a Hydrobike out for a leisurely ride, a fast cardio workout, photography session, or fishing.

Our hydrobikes are a perfect way to experience water sports. Hydrobikes are super dog friendly, and your furry friend will love the ride as much as you will.

What to expect:

You will be guided along the River Lagan by your Tour Guide where you will see some of Belfasts iconic landmarks on board our Hydrobikes. Whilst you peddle along on the safety of your Hydrobike your guide will provide you with details and stories of some of the famous landmarks such as the Harland & Wolff Cranes as well as provide the history of Belfast and the River Lagan Navigation System which once went as far as Lough Neagh. A must see and unique thing to do in Belfast.
Belfast gets its name from the Irish Beal Feirste, or mouth of the Farset. Whilst the River Farest has long disappeared under the streets of Belfast, the River Lagan is now the most important River in Belfast. The River Lagan once formed part of the Lagan Navigation a 27mile navigation extending from Belfast to Lough Neagh and was once one of the most successful commercial navigation in Ireland, but was closed in 1958.

The impoundment of the River Lagan by the Lagan Weir in 1994 lead to the rejuvenation of Belfast and whilst the banks of the River Lagan may look very different today, a lot of the history still remains. Discover more about the River Lagan and Belfast on our Guided Hydrobike Tour.
