Join us for a stunning boat trip from Oulton Broad to Somerleyton and back along the River Waveney, offering a chance to explore the hidden beauty of the Southern Broads National Park. Experience Oulton Broad, Oulton Dyke, and the Waveney River perfect for memorable photos in this wildlife-rich area.
We take a leisurely hour to get to Somerleyton, have an hour in Somerleyton, and spend an hour returning to Oulton Broad.

As we cruise along the Waveney, enjoy views of fens, marshes, and wildlife, including marsh harriers, kestrels, and ducks. This nature-focused trip lets you immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of the Broads, passing Carlton Marshes, a Suffolk Wildlife Trust nature reserve.

Keep an eye out for rare dragonflies, butterflies, and historic mills, some still in operation. After reaching the Waveney’s northern stretches, we'll turn back to Oulton Broad, arriving just as the sun sets.

The Broads National Park

We spend an hour on the River Waveney each way to Somerleyton which gives us some spectacular views, including fens and marshes along with the wildlife, including Marsh Harriers, teals, kestrels and hobbies, that call them home. It is a unique and interest wildlife/nature boat trip, where you can truly immerse yourself and forget about reality in this tucked away, untouched beauty.
Initially departing Oulton Broad, you will pass Carlton Marshes, a Suffolk Wildlife Trust managed nature reserve and home to a huge array of wildlife. As we head up Oulton Dyke, we’ll enter the River Waveney, of which the border of Norfolk – Suffolk follows. As we head up the Waveney, keep your eyes peeled for marsh harriers and kestrels, along with plenty of ducks and geese. The Broads are also home to a huge array of unique dragon-flies and butterflies.
