Whitechapel Jack the Ripper Mystery Adventure

Rip yourself a place in the history of crime-solving as the one who solved history’s most baffling and gruesome case. Point your feet back in time to visit the crime scenes, following clues & directions sent to your phone. Learn about London’s East End in the 1880s, hear the victims’ stories and make your own choices of the likeliest suspects, until, finally, your suspicions will lead you to uncover Jack’s identity.
This 2+ hour journey through crime is an adventure, not a race. There are endless opportunities to step off the trail for breaks & refreshments or to explore places of interest or intrigue at your leisure. The route is chosen for its relative quiet and historical interest. Our directions are playfully disguised but not hard to follow. Our clues are artfully contrived but always staring you in the face. All you need is your phone & some guts.

There is no guide to meet you: your guide is your phone! Activate your gamecode using a UK mobile number, then choose a team name & add team members. When your team is assembled at the Durward St exit of Whitechapel Tube, the Team Leader can text BEGIN to the SideWalks number to start the game.

YOU CANNOT ACCESS YOUR GAMECODE VIA THE TRIPADVISOR ’TICKET' LINK. IT WILL BE GENERATED MANUALLY AND SENT TO YOU BY TEXT. You don’t need a time slot: turn up and play any day, any time during daylight hours. All you need is a mobile phone with a UK number. Get an e-SIM with a UK number for as little as £5 (eg from Lycamobile). This game is for adults & teens with an interest in history, crime-solving and walking.
This is an adventure walk, not a race, so move at your own pace & stop at any time for a drink or a rest or to explore a place of interest en route. Play on your own terms: don't feel you have to hurry or solve every clue.

Some of the texts contain graphic content but teams can opt not to get these. The route is step-free. It is 5km, starts at Whitechapel Tube & ends in Spitalfields.

Activate your gamecode, choose a team name, join team members then text BEGIN to start your game. You will receive a reply which sets the scene & tells you what to do next. You will receive cryptic directions to the next location using mainly anagrams & visual landmarks; there are clues to solve; and all your answers will build towards a final solution to be revealed at the end of the game.
