Hi, I am Mark, your experienced guide and I offer a fun and informative tour, with stories of not just history, but the people who lived in the town and the characters that make the town what it is today.
You will start off by meeting ‘Nelson’ our ‘Grand Old Man of the Sea’ and from there we will wind our way through the beautiful harbour town, the hidden backstreets, the quay side and the wonderful bridge ending up at our magnificent beachfront and ‘Banjo Pier’

Along the way learn about the history of the town, its building and its people. See the hidden streets and buildings that you wouldn’t normally see, and hear stories fo the characters that have worked here .

The tour is fun, light and informative, and you are free to ask me questions to make the most of your experience.

I will recommend local places to eat and drink, and know the area well.

My name is Mark and I will be at the meeting point 10 minutes before the start time.

We will spend time on Pennyland meeting 'Nelson' and then talk about the old Sardine Factory, the influence of the fishing industry, before heading to West Looe Quay and beyond

St Nicholas Church has a fascinating history and tales of smuggling and religious fractions in the town

We will talk about the original Looe Bridge(s) and their influence on the town.

East Looe Beach and Seafront

The magnificent views over the bay, and we will talk about how the beach was used, the lifeboats and the influence on the town

Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol

We will talk about the wonderful history of the Guildhall, built in 1450, and the many changes it has seen, including Royal Charters, Coats of Arms and tales of the magistrates courts here.
