A few steps from Via Balbi, along the ancient route of the city, stands one of the most scenic churches in Genoa: the Santissima Annunziata del Vastato. The simple exterior does not reveal the richness of the interior, one of the greatest examples of Genoese Baroque. The naves, completely frescoed, are a riot of gold, stucco and paintings that leave you breathless. Among the masterpieces present, works by artists such as Giovanni Andrea Ansaldo and Domenico Piola. It is a real surprise for visitors, often called the “most beautiful church in Genoa”.
