Leipzig South Cemetery Cultural Heritage Tour

In the shadow of the Battle of Nations Monument lies one of the most impressive area monuments in Germany: The Leipzig South Cemetery. Already at the end of the 19th century, a park-like cemetery complex with the route of a linden leaf was built here.
Between ancient trees and lush rhododendrons, there are simple row graves, imposing buildings, mausoleums and sculptures. Many tombs reflect Leipzig’s impressive Wilhelminian past, but also the need for representation of the wealthy citizens of Leipzig, even beyond death.

Tip: Take tram line 2 or 15 to Battle of Nations Monument. From there it is only a five minute walk to the meeting point.

Tip: From the tram stop "Völkerschlachtdenkmal" it is only a five-minute walk to the meeting point.
