Altona Art Walking Tour In Hamburg
Classic meets modern. Poet meets worker. Between a picturesque love grotto and a busy train station, Altona welcomes its visitors with a colourful art mix of tin cans, cocoa beans and fish made from electronic waste. A small elephant symbolises the big heart of the people of Altona. In playful poetry, the famous Stuhlmann fountain picks up on the rich industrial tradition of the former working-class town of Altona, right across from the cemetery that Heinrich Heine once praised as the loveliest place where a poet could only lie buried.
