Experience Overview:

Berlin In The Third Reich Guided Walking Tour
During the National Socialist era, the cityscape of Berlin changed enormously. This became clear not only through the air raids, bombings and the final battle for Berlin, but also in the course of the conversion of Berlin into the Reich capital Germania.

Come with us on an interesting and informative city tour through the period from the seizure of power by the National Socialists in 1933 to the final battle for Berlin in 1945.

We will take you to the places of this historical history, to the still standing and to the vanished buildings and centers of terror during the Nazi era in Berlin.

The starting point is the Paul-Löbe-Haus at the U-bhf. Bundestag at the corner of Paul-Löbe-Allee and Konrad-Adenauer Straße.

At the Reichstag we show you the traces of the struggle for the Reich capital Berlin and why it borders on a miracle that this building is still standing, the last object to be conquered by the Red Army.

Through the Tiergarten we go to the Soviet War Memorial, where there is a military cemetery for the Soviet soldiers who died in the battle for Berlin.

Passing Soviet-Russian T-34 tanks and cannons that were involved in the battle for Berlin, it goes over the Straße des 17.June, last runway for German aircraft to the Brandenburg Gate.

Via the former Herrmann-Göring-Straße, today Ebertstraße, you can reach the Holocaust Memorial, the memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe.

Nearby was the Führerbunker, where Adolf Hitler committed suicide with his wife Eva Hitler. From there it goes to Wilhelmstraße, the government quarter until 1945, to the memorial plaque Georg Elser.

Here we go into the history of the German resistance and the many unsuccessful assassination attempts on the "Führer".

There were many ministries on Wilhelmstraße, such as: Josef Göbbels' Ministry of Propaganda, the new Reich Chancellery, the Reich Ministry of Transport, the Reich Ministry of Finance, the Reich Ministry of Aviation and other ministries.

The end point of the tour is the Topography of Terror on Wilhelmstrasse, near Checkpoint Charlie. The Topography of Terror is a project in Berlin for the documentation and processing of terror during the National Socialist era. From 1933 to 1945, the most important centers of National Socialist terror were located on the site: the secret State Police Office with its own “house prison”, the Reichsführung SS, the Sicherheitsdienst SD and the Reich Security Main Office.
