Torquay Private Surf Lesson with Real Surfers

Wow...ive been getting private lessons and my skills just keep on improving. Getting lessons with tsa is like hanging out with a mate who knows all the best breaks that are just right for my level. Its all pure gold.

I have had quite a few private lessons with Gally and I cannot thank him enough for his generosity with his time, his constant support and surfing tips! Gally takes me to different surf breaks along the coast each time we surf so each time it challenges me to read the waves and the pulse of the ocean. I cannot recommend Torquay surf academy enough - whether it be for renting (I often rent boards and booties), lessons or friendly hints on which breaks would be best for the day. I started surfing at the beginning of the year and for the first couple of months wasn't getting very far at all, I was all over the place basically which left me frustrated and made me realise that in order to progress, I had to learn properly. Lucky for me I was out trying to surf one day and I ended up talking to another surfer and he recommended Torquay surf academy. Later that day I booked in with Kev for my first lesson and never looked back. Within the first 2 hour lesson he had me progress further than what I had in 2 months by myself. After this I decided to book in a package deal of 5 lessons over a period of around 8 weeks or so. In this time I learnt a lot each lesson, the way Kev explains and describes what needs to be done is extremely thorough and won't leave you scratching your head confused. I have been surfing around 4-5 times per week and within this time and applying everything that I have learnt I have progressed from a 9 foot Mal to a 7 foot fun board and have now just purchased a 6 foot 4 shortboard in order to continue progressing. I never really could have imagined improving so much in such a short time and I owe it all to Kev and Gally down a TSA. I can't thank these guys enough as I am having more and more fun each time I go in the water which keeps me motivated to continue. I would recommend this surf school and private lessons especially to anyone of any age at any level of surfing. Can't thank them enough! Cheers Bram

Both Kev and Gally are very experienced, friendly and knowledgeable surfers and make it easy to understand how waves happen and the best place to be in the ocean to get the best wave. Their lessons are really fun and they clearly enjoy teaching and helping people learn and progress.I get private lessons and the price is really good because I learn a lot each time and I also become more confident in the water. Whether you're a total beginner or advanced, this is the only surf school you need to check out. i can't rate these guys highly enough!
