Melbourne Night Wildlife Adventure Tour

Find out what goes on in the wild after dark on this 2.5-hour night tour, 
The tour starts when we pick you up from the Woodend Train Station (I hour from Melbourne) or City hotel pickup (additional cost) . 

We then travel with a custom 4-wheel-drive small group bus into The Wombat State forest and look for animals like 

wombats, 

kangaroos, 

wallabies, 

owls, and other nocturnal wildlife in their natural environment. 

This is a very unique wildlife experience that you will love, the tour is limited to 11 people for a small-group experience and your expert guide with local experience will leave you with a better understanding of our beautiful animals and bushland.

What to expect:

Duration: 4 hours

Your private night tour starts with pickup at the Woodend Train station or Your Melbourne city accommodation (additional cost) We then drive into the Wombat State Forest in a custom 4x4 tour bus that can traverse the Great Dividing Range in any weather. 
Our first stop is the Lovely Trentham water falls, the longest single drop waterfall in Victoria. 

The best thing about this tour is that your guide never knows what you will encounter and when —every night is different this will keep you on the edge of your seat. Your bus is equipped with side lights so you can be involved in the spotting of animals, which is one of the most exciting parts of the tour. Your guide gives you plenty of hints and tips on how to find them and provides heaps of interesting facts about the various Australian animals you will encounter. 

We also make a stop a a local mineral water spring and you will get a chance to try the water that is claimed to have brought both health and well being to the local area for over a hundred years.

The weather on the night dictates whether you will take a small bush walk or enjoy stargazing in the night sky. In addition to learning about the animals, you'll also hear about the history the area. Your tour ends with return to your pickup location. There is a 98% chance you will see a Wombat in the wild as we usually see about 4-5.
