Details & Important Info
Additional Experience Details & Important Information
There are several different group lesson times available during the day, however please note it is always advisable to do the early morning sessions as conditions are generally the best at this time. It can sometimes get too windy in the afternoons.
Please note that stand up paddle boarding is a weather dependant sport. The relative smooth conditions at the water's edge is generally not a true indication of the conditions further out. The provider will endeavour to provide you with at least one hours notice if your session is cancelled due to poor weather/unsuitable winds. However, please note conditions can change rapidly on Port Phillip Bay so at times sessions are cancelled at very short notice. Whilst the team try and prevent this from occurring, sometimes they have no other option with the safety of customers being their primary consideration. If you are travelling further than one hour for your session, please make this known.

Organized by
Stand Up Paddle Boarding HQ
We are the fastest growing water sport in the world and it's little wonder why. The low-impact sport encourages general fitness through strength and balance exercise, all while having fun in the water. Better yet, the leisurely sport requires no existing level of skill to be able to have a great time.
We operate from two great locations, St Kilda beach (in Melbourne) and the boat sheds on Melbourne's Yarra River. Both locations are perfect places to learn Stand up Puddle in a safe, fun and protected environment. At St Kilda, Melbourne, you can unwind and enjoy the tranquillity paddling amongst the yachts and the sea life including some of St Kilda's 1000 penguins. On the Yarra River you can enjoy the panoramic view of Melbourne's best known tourist sites including the MCG, Eureka Tower and Poly Woodside - all from a unique location on the water.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding HQ offers much more than your first lesson or tour. As full supporters of a growing SUP community and the founders of the Port Phillip CUP SUP race, we provide a range of other experiences for individuals and groups, whether social or corporate. Night paddles, tours, 'Down Winder Paddles' and team building exercises are among our offered activities. Races and social BBQs are also no problem to organise. Tell us what you'd like to do, and we'll do our best to facilitate it.
