The Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles were originally known as the "Sow and Piglets", the mother pig and her little offspring. The early settlers renamed the rock formation after the disciples of Jesus Christ. You will notice that there are not actually twelve "Apostles", and we're not sure if there ever were. These are the world's tallest limestone stacks and, without a doubt, the most recognizable attraction in Victoria.

Apollo Bay is known as 'Paradise by the Sea" and was named after a sloop called the Apollo that was forced to shelter in the bay's calm waters when a nasty storm blew up back in 1845.
