Whether a local or visitor, this tour offers an unforgettable opportunity to connect with the land and its history through the lens of native bush foods.
During the tour, guests will stroll along the picturesque Byron Creek within Bangalow Parklands, where Delta Kay, an experienced guide, will showcase the incredible variety of bush tucker plants. These plants, essential to the Bundjalung people's culture, have been thoughtfully regenerated by a collaboration between the Anglican church and the Bangalow Land and Rivercare Group. Along the way, guests will not only learn about the nutritional and medicinal properties of these plants but also explore their historical significance through traditional stories handed down through generations. A chance to learn some Bundjalung language adds to the experience, and with a little luck, visitors might encounter local wildlife such as Binging the river turtle or Junbung the platypus. To cap off the adventure, tastes of delicious bush tucker foods, accompanied by bush tea and biscuits, await at the tour's conclusion.
