On this half day tour you'll explore the township of Khayelitsha, meeting the local residents, tasting regional delicacies, and learning the history of the area.
After being collected from your Cape Town hotel, your tour kicks off at the Velokhaya BMX Oval and Lifecycling Academy where you'll be kitted out with your bike and helmet. You'll also meet your guide, a local to the region, who will be more than happy to answer questions and tell you more about the area. Throughout the next five hours you'll make stops at Lookout Hill, with 360 views across Table Mountain and False Bay, as well as the Khayelitsha township. You'll also have a delicious lunch of shisa nyama (Zulu for ‘burnt meat’), a barbecue tradition that's all about people coming together.

As you learn about the daily lives of people living in the township, you can?t help but feel the true sense of community that exists. We begin our tour at the Velokhaya BMX Oval and Life Cycling Academy. From here our next stop is Lookout Hill with panoramic views taking in False Bay, Table Mountain and its surroundings. We enjoy a delicious platter of the townships local meat called Shisa nyama. We visit an informal settlement comprised of tin shack dwellings, meeting some of the families in the community. This route takes us past the train station, local shopping centre, spaza shops selling groceries, home-styled hairdressers and many more colourful sights and sounds
