Relish the opportunity of an exclusive lesson with a professional surfer, who has over 20 years experience. This one-and-a-half hour lesson will see you learn how to surf rain or shine on one of Cape Town's most suitable surfing beaches. Once equipped with the know how we're sure you'll be taking to the water for the rest of the week! Your loved ones can cheer you on from the beach as your instructor guides you through the waves and imparts their know-how.

1.5-hours of private surf coaching at one of Cape Town's most suitable surfing beaches. These private surf lessons can be tailored for beginner surfers who prefer learning outside of a general group environment or intermediate surfers wanting to improve specific skills. This option ensures exclusivity for the individual or group with a coach especially assigned to cater for your individual needs. Participants 6-15 years are required to book a private lesson when booking with us. This private lesson experience can be booked for 1 person only.
If you have previous surfing experience and wish to improve on your skills, kindly inform us at the time of booking so we can update your coach.
Our headquarters are located in Camps Bay so that we have easy accessibility to both coastlines of the Peninsula. Lessons take place at the most suitable beach depending on the conditions on the day of your booking. We check the forecast on several reliable sources and combine this information with our local knowledge to decide where we will coach each day. We consider factors such as wind, tides, swell direction and ocean temperatures before making our decision to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience.
We use high quality 4:3mm wetsuits to keep you warm throughout the year in the Cape Town waters. Wetsuits are well maintained-washed and rinsed after each use. We use beginner specific soft boards for those who have never touched a surfboard or only surfed a handful of times. These boards are easy to catch waves with and make standing easier as they are stable. If you have more surfing experience and are wanting to use a regular epoxy/fibreglass board for your private lesson, kindly detail your experience and let us know which board size is preferable at the time of booking.
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 3 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.
All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.

Stoked Surf School
Stoked School of Surf was born out of a passion for surfing and the surf lifestyle and started by Michelle Davy in 2009. Michelle only started surfing in her early twenties and 2 years later, left her career as Marketing Manager to embark on a four year global sojourn that took her to some of the best surf breaks in the world from California, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Chile, Mexico, Panama, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Wildy passionate about spreading the incredible feeling of ‘stoke’ which changed her lifestyle and sharing the unique South African beach culture with locals and foreigners alike, Michelle returned to South Africa to start Stoked School of Surf. Michelle has combined the knowledge gleaned from her Sports Science degree with years of coaching experience to design a progressive programme to get even the most inexperienced stoked on surfing.Today the Stoked School of Surf team is a dynamic mix of qualified surf coaches from various South African backgrounds. We pride ourselves in our professional yet fun approach to learning how to surf or SUP.
