Relish the opportunity of an exclusive lesson with a professional surfer, who has over 20 years experience. This one-and-a-half hour lesson will see you learn how to surf rain or shine on one of Cape Town's most suitable surfing beaches. Once equipped with the know how we're sure you'll be taking to the water for the rest of the week! Your instructor will guide your group through the waves and impart their know-how.

Learn to surf at one of Cape Town's pristine beaches with our experienced, qualified coaches. A 1.5-hour group surf lesson includes the use of a warm wetsuit, and surfboard. No previous experience is required as we guide you through the surfing basics using our unique teaching techniques.
If you have previous surf experience and are wanting to brush up on your skills, please let us know upon booking so we can advise your coach and group you accordingly if possible.
Our headquarters are located in Camps Bay so that we have easy accessibility to both coastlines of the Peninsula. Surf lessons take place at the most suitable beach depending on the conditions on the day of your booking. We check the surf forecast on several reliable sources and combine this information with our local knowledge to decide where we will coach each day. We consider factors such as wind, tides, swell direction and ocean temperatures before making our decision to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience to our surfing students.
We use high quality 4:3mm wetsuits to keep you warm throughout the year in the Cape Town waters. Wetsuits are well maintained-washed and rinsed after each use. We use beginner specific soft boards for those who have never touched a surfboard or only surfed a handful of times. These boards are easy to catch waves with and make standing easier as they are stable. If you have a bit more surfing experience and are wanting to use a regular epoxy/fibreglass board, kindly let us know at the time of booking.
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 3 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.
All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.

Stoked Surf School
Stoked School of Surf was born out of a passion for surfing and the surf lifestyle and started by Michelle Davy in 2009. Michelle only started surfing in her early twenties and 2 years later, left her career as Marketing Manager to embark on a four year global sojourn that took her to some of the best surf breaks in the world from California, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Chile, Mexico, Panama, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Wildy passionate about spreading the incredible feeling of ‘stoke’ which changed her lifestyle and sharing the unique South African beach culture with locals and foreigners alike, Michelle returned to South Africa to start Stoked School of Surf. Michelle has combined the knowledge gleaned from her Sports Science degree with years of coaching experience to design a progressive programme to get even the most inexperienced stoked on surfing.Today the Stoked School of Surf team is a dynamic mix of qualified surf coaches from various South African backgrounds. We pride ourselves in our professional yet fun approach to learning how to surf or SUP.
