You'll begin your experience by meeting your paragliding instructor at your preferred location: Signal Hill or Lion's Head. There, you'll be provided with all the equipment you need to enjoy your paragliding adventure. Next, you'll be given a safety briefing and your instructor will help you into your harness. Once you are ready to fly, you will be launched into the air with your instructor, and glide over the scenery of Cape Town to experience the singular joy of free flight. Be sure to take in the views as you glide through the air like a bird!

Almost anybody can experience free flight by participating in an introductory tandem paragliding experience with an instructor.
The pre-flight briefing takes just a few minutes to prepare and you’re off, gliding through the air in search of waves of lift with a qualified Tandem Flight Instructor.
No previous experience is required. Experience the magic of paragliding flight by joining us on one of our introductory paragliding experiences. Cape Town Tandem Paragliding Experiences take place at Signal hill and Lions head in Cape Town City.
Be sure to check with us 2 hours before the time of your booking to confirm the weather is suitable. We do not take any chances with you, our valued client and will only fly if it is safe to do so.
Please arrive 15 - 20 minutes before your booking time so you can go through the screening and COVID-19 safety protocols and get introduced to your instructor who will take you through a pre-flight briefing.
The duration of the flight is also entirely weather dependent. If we are unable to fly for at least 30 minutes to an hour you will only be charged for a Standard Winelands Tandem paragliding experience. If you are unable to fly during your stay in our area we will give you a full refund.

Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 2 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.
All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.

Mias de Klerk who started the company in 2013 has more than 15 years of paragliding experience and more than 5000 flights. Winelands Paragliding is a paragliding as well as powered paragliding school registered with the South African Hang gliding and Paragliding Association (SAHPA) and the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA). Winelands Paragliding is also affiliated and registered with local tourism authorities like South African National Parks (SANPARKS), Cape Winelands tourism, and Drakenstein municipality.Winelands Paragliding has an exceptional safety record with no serious incidents or accidents since its registration with SAHPA in 2013. Mias is a daddy and flying fanatic. He started flying in 2002 and loved it right from the start. Mias is from the Lowveld in Mpumalanga where he learned to paraglide and became an instructor before relocating to the Winelands. “Paragliding has become a BIG part of my life and sharing the experience with people is an absolute passion for me” says Mias. He is a licensed Paragliding flight instructor, Powered Paragliding flight instructor, and Tandem flight instructor with more than 5000 flights and no accidents in more than 15 years.
Peter is a dedicated father and husband and has been with Winelands since its start. He enjoys working with people in an outdoor environment and says that sharing the joy and excitement of Wineland's adventures with people is most rewarding. Peter is our operations and logistics manager and his care and thoroughness make him indispensable to the team.
