The Sunrise Tour isn't just your everyday tour. We don't run them everyday. Only when we see an amazing morning forecast will we run one of these tours.
Beat the heat and hit the water with the sun just dawning on a new day. A highlight of your stay in Byron Bay will be this ocean adventure padding up close with dolphins, whales and turtles in Cape Byron's Marine National Park and learning the local Aboriginal stories and sacred places.
You will also have a great view of Byron's coast line and the Byron Bay lighthouse from the water.
Your Tour Program:
1. Your 2 hour kayak tour will start at Byron Bay beach
- Meet all your fellow paddlers
- Pair up on the 2 person kayaks
- Learn the basics of paddling a sit-on-top kayak
2. Then we hit the ocean
- Impress your friends (and yourself, just quietly) getting out past the shore break
- Learn about local Aboriginal stories and sacred places. The culrural history of this area is amazing and will give you a new appreciation for this beautiful place.
- Paddle along The Pass surfing Mecca, Wategos millionaire row and Cape Byron, Australia's most Easterly point
- Keep an eye out for those cheeky dolphins, whales when in season and turtles popping up for a breath of fresh salty air. It is such a priviledge to see these marine mammals in their own habitat, wild and free and not in captivity.
- Be amazed by the clear water, colour and variety of the tropical fish & reef
3. Take a Break
- Relax and take in the spectacular coastline scenery

Activity FAQs
DO YOU USE SINGLE OR DOUBLE KAYAKS?
Most the time we use double kayaks. We find with two people working together we can go further and see more. Our doubles have space for a child to squeeze between 2 adults.

Don't forget your swimmers, towel, hat and
a small reusable water bottle. It's also a good idea to
wear and a rash shirt or t-shirt to protect you from
the sun, and if you ever get motion/sea sick please take your
tablets before arriving. Please refrain from drinking excessive amounts of
alcohol the evening before your tour. You will be more likely to suffer motion
sickness.
We supply all kayaking gear, safety gear, wetsuits and a
kayaking lesson on the beach prior to the tour.
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 2 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.
All gift certificate sales are final and not refundable. Gift certificates can only be exchanged prior to redemption.
