Welcome to horseback riding trails in South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom along the Whale Coast.
African Horse Company is based on Stanford Hills estate, around the idyllic hamlet, Stanford. Outrides on offer are 1 and 2-hour mountain trails catering for beginners to advanced horse riders. Canter through the vineyards, climb the foothills and meander through the forest. Stanford Hills offers an array of nature attractions.
The horses used are local South African Crossbreeds (Arab and Boerperd blood). Surefooted, enduring and fully adapted to the environment with regard to grazing, weather, and terrain, they are the true horses of South Africa and the key to a special opportunity to ride through the wonderful, untouched nature of the region.

Return and Refunds policy
The provision of goods and services by African Horse Company is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, African Horse Company go to every endeavour to rebook/reschedule the service. If that is not possible, it will be considered to refund the client soon as possible.
Cancellation policy
30 days cancellation before arrival 100% refund
29 – 15 days cancellation before arrival 75% refund
14 – 4 days cancellation before arrival 50% refund
3 days-24 hrs cancellation before arrival 0% refund

Payment options accepted
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, credit cards for online bookings. Bank transfers or cash will only be accepted for direct bookings into the African Horse Company bank account, the details of which will be provided on request
Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for African Horse Company via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. African Horse Company : In company of horses - in balance with nature.African Horse Company trails go through varying terrain. Distances of up to 45km a day will include beach, dune, rugged mountain, streams and wetlands. Through fields of fynbos, up rocky slopes or galloping on the beach, our horses need to be sure footed, fleet and enduring. The horses used, and most suited, are South African cross breeds: Boereperd, Arab, Saddler and Friesian crosses.
