Experience Overview:

Half Day Bicycle Sightseeing Tour Of Brooklyn

This tour starts in Dumbo, Brooklyn, under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges on beautiful waterfront with sweeping views of downtown Manhattan from across the East River.

We pedal on comfortable, lightweight, high quality, hybrid bicycles; provided to you by Brooklyn Giro LLC bike tour company. From Dumbo, we visit the historic and newly redeveloped Brooklyn Navy Yard, heading into the South Part of Williamsburg – a neighborhood of artists, graffiti, and some of the coolest Bars, Coffee Shops, and Breweries in NYC.

We head to Fort Green Park, North of Bustling Downtown Brooklyn- the landscape changes dramatically and one gets a view of the amazing diversity of Brooklyn! We pass by Barclay’s Center and Historically Preserved Government Buildings.

The next stop is Prospect Park’s Grand Army Plaza with views of the Park’s Arch and the Brooklyn Public Library. We do a quick ride through the park and head towards Red Hook for stops at locals to meet some of Brooklyn's hardworking people at a distillery, a chocolate factory or perhaps some pie bakers...

Into Cobble Hill and Red Hook with Brownstone Lined Streets, Small Family Owned Restaurants, and reminders of a shipping industry long gone!

Next stop? Brooklyn Heights! With its tree lined blocks and diversity in architecture, this calm and serene part of the ride introduces you the very first historically preserved neighborhood in the United States.

Back through DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park ends one of the most complete tours of Brooklyn you’ll find. Grab a post ride snack and enjoy the park! We’ll put away the bikes, make suggestions about our city, and hope you’ll be back riding with us soon!

FAQ

Activity FAQs

Do i have to be an avid cyclist to book a tour?

No, we ride at a pace of 6 to 8 miles per hour and make stops to take pictures. Our tours average 10-15 miles and we bike mostly on Bike Paths with very few hills. Biking laws and Bike Routes in NYC have changed dramatically in the past couple of years and cycling is now safer than ever.

What are the age requirements?

13 and up on our Public Tours.

What is your rainy day and bad weather policy?

If the weather is extremely poor and we decide to cancel, you will be able to reschedule.

What should i bring and wear?

Pay attention to the weather! We strongly recommend that you NOT wear lose clothing while riding a bike. We have bike racks, but bulky purses or those expensive cameras are not the best things to bring. We can store items for you in our secured storage facility if you decide not to bring them on the ride, but please arrive 30 minutes ahead of time so that our tour guide can accommodate you. We do not have water for sale or snacks. We do have a bathroom at the storage facility, but please make this a last resort when arriving.

What if i cannot finish the tour, can i leave?

Perhaps! If you do decide that you cannot finish, you must be able to return the bike before the end of the tour at the storage facility and leave the bike locked. The bike we provide to you is your responsibility during the tour. You will be charged $350 or more if the bike is lost or stolen.

Should i tip the guides?

That’s a strong YES! Some companies will "tip-toe" around this topic, but we're here to give you a straight answer! Tipping is customary! Much of our guide’s income depends on the tips you provide.

Do you have ebikes?

NO! E-Bikes are currently banned in NYC.

Do i have to wear a helmet and do you provide?

No. NYC Law does not require a helmet but we strongly encourage you to wear one. Yes. We have helmets. We even offer gloves, hats, and toe warmers for colder days!
