Geologically, a uniquely formed mountain range. Ecologically, one of the most diverse National Parks in Australia. Culturally, home to ten’s of thousands of years of human history. All of this in a destination that offers some of the best opportunities for outdoor activities and adventure sports.

Based right in the heart of the Grampians, Absolute Outdoors is the key to connecting people with place and unlocking the true Grampians experience.

Absolute Outdoors is Quality Tourism and Eco Tourism accredited with the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) which guarantees that your experience will be consistent, sustainable, of high quality, engaging and memorable for you!

Our experiences range from gentle guided walks with breathtaking views, to hair raising adventure activities for all ages and abilities. We offer guided walks, canoeing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain biking as well as a range of uniquely crafted experiences all in either half, full or multi-day packages.

As an experiential tour operator, no matter how you spend your time with us, our goal is to share our home with you in a safe, engaging and informative way leaving you with a deeper understanding of yourself and your destination - The Grampians. 

History

Our story began back in 1989 when a small group of friends begun organising social adventure trips to the area. Like all good things, these trips grew in size and popularity, leading to a need to charge a fee to continue sustainably. The ethos of these trips was based around sharing experiences, learning, connecting people together, and with the places they are visiting. Although Absolute Outdoors has changed forms and evolved significantly over the years, our ethos remains the same - to share, learn, experience and grow.

Adventure Programs

Absolute Outdoors' main focus is delivering high-value adventure activities. With half or full-day adventures you can canoe, SUP, rock climb, abseil, mountain bike or hike with us to explore our great region.

Educational, School and Corporate Programs

Absolute Outdoors is a true one-stop-shop for any group programs. From journey programs or base camping to hardtop/lodge style camps or luxury accommodation, we can work with you from concept to completion and cater to all requirements, budgets, and outcomes.  Contact us to start your journey.

Hiker Support

The Grampians Peaks Trail runs through our backyard. We love sharing our home and want to be a part of everyone's GPT journey, from first-time campers to experienced through-hikers. Because of this, we have developed a range of hiker support services to assist anyone walking the GPT. We offer transport services for one way hikes, water and equipment drops to campsites as well as a range of rental safety equipment.

Equipment Rental and Sales

The Absolute Outdoors shop in the centre of Halls Gap is the perfect spot to pop into before any Grampians Adventure. Pick up any last-minute things you need, hire a range of equipment, get some good local knowledge or even just pop in for a chat! We rent out a range of hiking equipment from tents to sleeping bags and communication equipment like PLB's or satellite phones. We also stock a great range of apparel and equipment specializing in hiking, trail running, and rock climbing.
